Kapurpurawan Rock Formations

Carved by nature is Burgos, Ilocos Norte’s Kapurpurawan Rock Formation. Visually, it’s the closest to Ireland’s northern coast I’ve been–inclusive of occasional squalls, sans freezing wind.

Water Bending near Plaza Salcedo

Got to love a mix of the old and new. After you’ve taken a quick stroll around Vigan’s Calle Crisologo, head to the town center. Hard to miss Plaza Salcedo, it’s right in front of St Paul’s Metropolitan Cathedral. Juan De Salcedo first built St Paul’s in 1574. Earthquakes damaged it back in 1619 and…

Prepping 101: Food Source

No, this post doesn’t declare my accrual of a green thumb–at the least, mine is red from nail-biting. Aggregating thoughts swimming about, I’ve decided to create a series on sustainable living. When the nearest Mcdonalds or 7/11 has been toppled by calamities or a horde of zombies (you never know), what’s one way of providing…

Dapitan: In your spare time, draw fish.

Colours will distract you some days and they’re captivating enough to count as valid nutrition sources. Think photography, for me, has always involved tiptoeing lines between light and shadow; it’s a time-consuming exercise and a healthy distraction that sometimes serves it’s purpose, drawing in cash when necessary. Myriad of hues with it’s hint of comedy,…

Six.

Six places I’m normally at… 1. Walking Place(s) Normally, this is the area between home and the Eko headquarters, Ayala Center Cebu, mum’s office and various other meeting spots for other projects. If I could have a decent discussion on foot, I’d do it. Walking helps me sort out the days activities and set…

A Balaraw in my pocket.

When we visited the Special Forces Regiment last November 2011, I got myself an itty-bitty buck knife. They said we were going on a trek and would camp out in the mountains for the night, so I wanted to be prepared. Well… I soon found that my buck knife was better off being used as a…

A Sweet Potato Story…

Basically, all we’ll do for this post is look at the Sweet Potato. You know about this, it’s a root crop, reddish or gray on the outside and pink, orange or purple on the inside. Again, I’m no kitchen whizz… and food, to me, has three characteristics: good, not good and bad. GOOD food, I will…

Going up the mountain with Desiderata.

Starting the 15th of March I’ll be offline for about a month again, so if you guys have any concerns please email or PM me before the 15th or after April 17, 2012. I’m honestly excited to see my Labaw Donggon mates, how they’ve changed… how the months have been kind or harsh to us….

Epic of the Three Stars 11

Previous Page – Comic Archive – Next Page Previous Page – Comic Archive – Next Page Page 11 of Epic of the Three Stars. This reminds me of a saying that I, more or less, live by: “When the emotions are alive, the brain goes dead.” Come on Anna, stop doing a Sun Tzu on the poor boy. Labaw Donggon’s frontal cortex…

Getting Halo-halo after lights out.

After having spent the whole day drawing, I was up to my neck in need of Halo-halo… or want. It was past 2100, so most of the malls were closed. It’s good that Cebu now has a lot of places that open 24/7. So I dragged my very willing brother along and we went on a…
